² So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved,^(A) and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”^(B)

² He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’

³ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.^[a](A)

¹⁹ They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, “Surely you don’t mean me?”

⁸ “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

²⁵ “In that day,^(A)” declares the Lord Almighty, “the peg^(B) driven into the firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and will fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut down.” The Lord has spoken.^(C)

³² So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it drift away.

⁴⁰ Cutting loose the anchors,^(A) they left them in the sea and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach.

¹⁴ As he approached Lehi,^(A) the Philistines came toward him shouting. The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him.^(B) The ropes on his arms became like charred flax,^(C) and the bindings dropped from his hands.
